EPISODE DESCRIPTION –
Building on the foundation laid in episode 1 of what constitutes a heroic character, Zena goes on to address the rise of the anti-hero in story, and how storytellers have become confused by this type of hero. There are a number of good reasons to write an anti-hero, such as a desire to be more honest about the human condition, or to more fully address the complexities of living in a fallen world, or to critique a corrupt and broken society or system. However, there are certain qualities that simply confuse the subject and even cause harm to the world. It's important that we understand which qualities cause our characters to become morally bankrupt so that we can avoid adding to the already confusing cacophony.
UP NEXT – In episode 3, we'll dive even deeper into the problems that can emerge in society as a result of the rise of the anti-hero, and how these types of characters can lead a society into ruin.
